A bronchoscopy is a medical examination of the airways of the lungs. You have a sedative. Then a flexible tube is put down your nose or mouth and down into the airways. The doctor can see the inside of the airways using an eyepiece. They can take samples of tissue (biopsies) to examine under the microscope.
